Our "House of Music" have endeavored to carry this beautiful heritage and tradition by establishing Pratap Music House in 1883 in Lahore, now in Pakistan and after the independence of the country shifted to dehradun, India which is one of the most picturesque valley in the country thus adding more aesthetic values to our numerous products of musical instruments.

We are not running a “store" of music but a house of music in the real
Sense. In 1883 the founder was one of the well known Tabla player of his times JST come down from the heights of Afghanistan where he was in the kings court imparting knowledge of music.

His son found a place as the music director in the theatres before the movies came into the world scene.

The founder’s grand son, now being a very eminent Veena player of India's repute runs this house in dehradun India and the other son looks after the international aspects of the music house from Canada.

The fact is that this is the only music house being actually run by practicing professional music artists, in the past and now.

We offer you the choice of the musical instruments made in the tradition of classical style with quality as the top priority. Running a store is just management but running the house is a skill with and of feelings care, ethics and sensibility.
